Webflow speed optimization, without a rebuild
Images, scripts, fonts and settings tuned inside Webflow, measured before and after. Faster pages rank better, lose fewer visitors and use less bandwidth.
You might be here because
01
PageSpeed gives the site a good score on desktop and a poor one on mobile.
02
The first screen takes seconds to appear on a phone.
03
The site keeps running into the bandwidth limit of its plan.
What you get
A site that loads faster on phones, with the design untouched.
The median Webflow site scores about 62 out of 100 on mobile (HTTP Archive, August 2026). Most of the gap comes from the same few causes, and I fix them in order of effect.
A speed audit
Each template measured on mobile, with the causes ranked by the time they cost.
Images that fit
Resized, converted to WebP or AVIF, and loaded only when they are needed.
Fewer scripts
Unused tags removed, and the rest loaded after the page is usable.
Lighter fonts
Fewer files, in WOFF2, with the headline font preloaded.
Webflow’s own switches
Per-page CSS and deferred scripts are off on most sites. I turn them on and test everything they touch.
A before and after report
The same pages measured again, three runs each.
How it goes
01
Measure
I run every template on mobile three times and keep the middle result.
02
Estimate
You get the list of fixes, with hours next to each one.
03
Fix on staging
The changes go to a staging copy first, so you can compare.
04
Publish and measure again
The report shows the scores before and after.
Price
About a day of work for most sites.
Billed by the hour, with the estimate first. If the cause turns out to be structural, I tell you before going any further.

Questions
Why is my Webflow site slow?
Usually for the same few reasons: images larger than the space they fill, scripts from other companies, too many font files, and a heavy first screen. The platform itself is rarely the cause.
Why is the mobile score worse than the desktop one?
The test runs on a slow phone and a slow connection. Scripts and large images cost far more there than on a laptop.
Can a Webflow site score 90 or more?
Many can, but not all. Webflow loads its own scripts on every page, and those cannot be removed. You get the likely range after the audit, not before.
Will speed work break our animations?
It should not. Interactions are tested on staging before anything is published, and you decide about any that have to go.
Will the design change?
No, unless the first screen itself is the problem. Then you decide what to simplify.
What if the score is still low afterwards?
Then the cause is usually structural. At that point moving the site to custom code is worth pricing, and I will say so.

Migration from Webflow to custom code
The same site, rebuilt in code and moved to your own server. The monthly plan stops, the pages get lighter, and hosting and SEO are yours to control.

Why a Webflow site scores 60 on speed, and what gets it to 90
Most slow Webflow sites are slow for the same four reasons. None of them needs a rebuild.
