I build and maintain Webflow sites, and I also move sites off Webflow. The two services do not contradict each other. The right answer depends on how the site is used.
Stay if
- Marketing edits pages every week without a developer.
- The CMS has several editors and a publishing routine.
- You launch landing pages often and need them the same day.
Move if
- The site changes a few times a year.
- You pay for seats, languages or apps you barely use.
- Speed or custom features keep running into platform limits.
- You already have a developer on call.
What a move involves
The design stays the same. Pages are rebuilt in code, content moves to files or a small CMS, every old address gets a redirect, and the site goes to a server you control. The time depends on the number of templates, not the number of pages.
After the move, changes go through a developer. That is the trade: no monthly plan and a faster site, in exchange for the visual editor.
The question is not which platform is better. It is who changes the site, and how often.
